The John William Watson Papers

 Sergeant, Virginia’s 47th Company I

 

 

 

Joined Confederate forces at Aquia District in Stafford. Virginia in March of 1862. Wounded at Gettysburg, survived, only to die of pneumonia in May of 1864 in Lynchburg, Virginia. Buried at City Cemetery, Lynchburg.

 

 

 

Some 30 letters and a Photograph of John in Uniform have survived. Information supplied by Timothy J. Baroody, Great Great Great Grandson.
